YES KIDETTES Marks 11th Year

YES (Youth Entertainment Stage) KIDETTES will present Dis­ney’s “Win­nie the Pooh, Kidettes” at the Downey High School Au­di­to­rium in Modesto on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. Two ad­di­tional mati­nee per­for­mances are sched­uled for Nov. 11 and 12 at 3 p.m. Tick­ets are $10 and are now on sale at YESCom­ or The show isn’t rec­om­mended for in­fants un­der the age of two.

Story tell­ers will wel­come guests to the Hun­dred Acre Wood, where Win­nie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tig­ger, Piglet, Rab­bit and Owl, but soon dis­cov­ers that Christopher Robin has been cap­tured by the mys­te­ri­ous Back­son! As they pre­pare for a res­cue op­er­a­tion, the an­i­mals learn about team­work, friend­ship and, of course ... shar­ing snacks.

In this YES KIDETTE”S pro­duc­tion, 70 first through fifth grade stu­dents will per­form this clas­sic story. Learn­ing first-hand the thrill and en­chant­ment of per­form­ing, the YES KIDETTES are of­fered a broad ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ence, gain­ing in­sights from YES Men­tors – YES Com­pany Alumni who re­turn to vol­un­teer as re­hearsal and backstage as­sis­tants.

Now in its 26th sea­son, well over 190,000 community mem­bers have at­tended a YES Com­pany per­for­mance since the Com­pany’s first sum­mer pro­duc­tion in 1992.

Dis­ney’s Winne the Pooh, Kidettes is pre­sented through spe­cial ar­range­ment and all au­tho­rized per­for­mance ma­te­ri­als are supplied by Mu­sic Theatre In­ter­na­tional (MTI). Mu­sic and Lyrics by Richard M. Sher­man, Robert B. Sher­man, Robert, Lopez and Kris­ten Anderson-Lopez, Book by Ch­eryl Davis, Mu­sic adapted and ar­ranged by Will Van Dyke.
