Novem­ber pro­grams have been sched­uled at the Oak­dale Li­brary, 151 S. First Ave.

Preschool Story Time and Wig­gle Worms con­tinue through Novem­ber.

Wig­gle Worms Story Time is now twice each Wed­nes­day, 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. En­joy sto­ries, mu­sic, danc­ing, rhythm ac­tiv­i­ties, and fin­ger play at this spe­cial pro­gram per­fect for ages 0 to 3 and their care­givers. (25-30 min­utes)

Be­gin Novem­ber with us at our “Dia De Los Muer­tos Cel­e­bra­tion” (Day of the Dead). Chil­dren are in­vited to come to the li­brary to cel­e­brate and re­mem­ber loved ones who have passed by lis­ten­ing to a story, mak­ing a craft (salt dough skull with se­quins and play dough), and hav­ing a sweet snack. Join us on Thurs­day, Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m. All ages wel­come.

We will have Lego Days twice this month. Kids can cre­ate their own mas­ter­pieces us­ing our fab­u­lous Lego col­lec­tion and we will dis­play th­ese great works in the Li­brary. The build­ing fun be­gins at 3 p.m. on Fri­day, Nov. 3 and Nov. 17.

Our Wee Move And Play pro­gram, fea­tur­ing un­struc­tured imag­i­na­tive play for lit­tle ones, 5 and un­der, will be Mon­day, Nov. 6 and Nov. 20. Par­ents can help their chil­dren learn so­cial skills and have fun at the same time. Join us at 11 a.m. both days.

Cel­e­brate the sea­son with our Novem­ber STEM ac­tiv­ity on Thurs­day, Nov. 9 at 3:30 p.m. Tech­nol­ogy and en­gi­neer­ing will be high­lighted as kids learn how to use a bat­tery op­er­ated tooth­brush to make a crazy turkey robot. And it moves! Eyes, feath­ers, and all the “fix­ings” will be avail­able to make your turkey your own.

We will have a Teen Craft on Thurs­day, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. If you’re tired of your ear buds be­ing in a tan­gled mess at the bot­tom of your back­pack, then join us to up cy­cle a mint con­tainer and turn it into a unique per­son­al­ized “Ear Bud Head­phone Case.” This craft is geared to teens (12 and older).

Our reg­u­lar Li­brary Book Club will be read­ing “The Ghost of Han­nah Men­des,” and then meet­ing to dis­cuss and share on Tues­day, Nov. 28 at 11:30 a.m. You can sign out a copy at the Li­brary and join in. New mem­bers are al­ways wel­come.

The Friends of the Oak­dale Li­brary are the main spon­sors of so many of our pro­grams and prizes. They con­stantly pro­mote and en­cour­age the great gift of lit­er­acy at all lev­els for ev­ery­one The Friends will hold their monthly meet­ing on Mon­day, Nov. 27 at 1:30 p.m. Forms to join and info are avail­able at the Oak­dale Li­brary, or call 847-4204.

Fi­nally, close out Novem­ber with us on the Thurs­day, Nov. 30 at 3:30 p.m. Get ready to shout “Book Bingo!” as we call out the num­bers and mark the squares to win your choice of some great do­nated books as prizes. This is for the whole fam­ily, all ages wel­come.
