Stu­dent Film Fes­ti­val Now Ac­cept­ing Sub­mis­sions

Call­ing all col­lege and high school film­mak­ers; The Grand Foun­da­tion is now ac­cept­ing short film sub­mis­sions for its 2018 Stu­dent Film Fes­ti­val to be held on March 17, 2018, at the Grand Theatre Cen­ter for the Arts in Tracy. The fi­nal dead­line for film sub­mis­sions is Jan. 5, 2018.

The Stu­dent Film Fes­ti­val will show­case short films from col­lege, high school and im­mer­sive dig­i­tal/film/ arts high school stu­dents through­out Cal­i­for­nia, Ari­zona, Ne­vada and Ore­gon. Films must be be­tween three to 15 min­utes in length. Sub­mit­ted films will be ju­ried by a panel of judges, and ac­cepted films will be live-screened be­fore the pub­lic. The Grand Foun­da­tion will present $3,250 in awards for the best stu­dent films.

Now in its sec­ond year, the Grand Foun­da­tion Stu­dent Film Fes­ti­val is de­signed to in­spire young film­mak­ers and give them an at­tain­able venue in which to have their short film live-screened, ju­ried and awarded. Stu­dent film gen­res will in­clude in­die, ex­per­i­men­tal, an­i­ma­tion, doc­u­men­tary, po­lit­i­cal/ cause, nar­ra­tive and PSA, and oth­ers.

The Stu­dent Film Fes­ti­val will also fea­ture a film-talk from the Film/TV in­dus­try, a jury panel dis­cus­sion with ques­tions from the au­di­ence, and an au­di­ence choice award con­test. The day-long event will cul­mi­nate with a film­maker awards re­cep­tion.
