Beatrice passed away peace­fully at Oak Val­ley Hospi­tal from com­pli­ca­tions from pneu­mo­nia and car­diac ar­rest with her son and grand­daugh­ter by her side. She was born to Judge and Mrs. Al­bert F. Ross in Red­ding, Cal­i­for­nia and at­tended and grad­u­ated from U.C. Berke­ley Ca.

Beatrice loved teach­ing and work­ing with hand­i­capped stu­dents in her early ca­reer and later had a pas­sion for help­ing peo­ple with their real estate trans­ac­tions. She worked for many years at Cen­tury 21 lo­cally re­ceiv­ing many dis­tinc­tions and awards and took pride in hon­est and open com­mu­ni­ca­tions with all clients. Her home is full of thank you let­ters and awards re­gard­ing her work.

Beatrice was mar­ried for over 45 years to an­other teacher Charles Hutchi­son and af­ter sep­a­ra­tion, re­united to fin­ish their lives to­gether. Charles pre­ceded her in death on May 12, 2013 and she lost her younger lov­ing sis­ter Kathryn Ross Hen­der­son on April 19, 2017.

Bea was blessed with hav­ing many very close and long last­ing friend­ships. The in­fa­mous group of four ladies known as the “The Odd Quad” trav­eled and ex­pe­ri­enced much of life to­gether. The re­main­ing three ladies were able to say good­bye the day of her pass­ing. Bea bat­tled in the last months with se­vere de­men­tia, how­ever, she tri­umphed glo­ri­ously through her life wor­thy of cel­e­bra­tion with mantras like; love God, hate no per­son, live with­out prej­u­dice, help oth­ers, be sup­port­ive.

Beatrice is sur­vived by her son Mark Hutchi­son of Oak­dale, grand­daugh­ter Natalie Hutchi­son of New York, nieces Lisa Hen­der­son of North Carolina, Doris Watson of Liver­more and Jeanmarie Journeay of Idaho, neph­ews Terry Hutchi­son of Oak­land and Tim Hutchi­son of An­ti­och.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice and cel­e­bra­tion of life fol­low­ing will be held on Satur­day Novem­ber 11, at 2 p.m. in Oak­dale at the Saint Matthias Angli­can Church, 101 South First Av­enue across from Wells Fargo Bank.
