BEATRICE ROSS HUTCHISON
Aug. 6, 1926 – Oct. 31, 2017
Beatrice passed away peacefully at Oak Valley Hospital from complications from pneumonia and cardiac arrest with her son and granddaughter by her side. She was born to Judge and Mrs. Albert F. Ross in Redding, California and attended and graduated from U.C. Berkeley Ca.
Beatrice loved teaching and working with handicapped students in her early career and later had a passion for helping people with their real estate transactions. She worked for many years at Century 21 locally receiving many distinctions and awards and took pride in honest and open communications with all clients. Her home is full of thank you letters and awards regarding her work.
Beatrice was married for over 45 years to another teacher Charles Hutchison and after separation, reunited to finish their lives together. Charles preceded her in death on May 12, 2013 and she lost her younger loving sister Kathryn Ross Henderson on April 19, 2017.
Bea was blessed with having many very close and long lasting friendships. The infamous group of four ladies known as the “The Odd Quad” traveled and experienced much of life together. The remaining three ladies were able to say goodbye the day of her passing. Bea battled in the last months with severe dementia, however, she triumphed gloriously through her life worthy of celebration with mantras like; love God, hate no person, live without prejudice, help others, be supportive.
Beatrice is survived by her son Mark Hutchison of Oakdale, granddaughter Natalie Hutchison of New York, nieces Lisa Henderson of North Carolina, Doris Watson of Livermore and Jeanmarie Journeay of Idaho, nephews Terry Hutchison of Oakland and Tim Hutchison of Antioch.
A memorial service and celebration of life following will be held on Saturday November 11, at 2 p.m. in Oakdale at the Saint Matthias Anglican Church, 101 South First Avenue across from Wells Fargo Bank.
