The Oklahoman (Sunday) - - NEWS -

Four of the nation’s past emergency management directors will share their experiences of disasters during the 2017 Emergency Management Summit scheduled Sept. 18-20 at Rose State College.

The summit is hosted by Rose State and the state Department of Emergency Management.

James Lee Witt, Joe Allbaugh, Michael Brown and R. David Paulison — directors of the Federal Emergency Management Agency from 1993 to 2009 — will talk with state and local emergency management directors about experiences from Hurricane Katrina, the Oklahoma

City Bombing, 9/11 attacks and the 1994 Northridge earthquake.

The theme is “Observations from Ground Zero.” Sessions will provide insight into what went on behind the scenes of major emergency management responses and how those events shaped the profession of emergency management.

The summit is intended for emergency management professionals, first responders from all fields, business professionals, human resources and students. Registration is at emergencymanagement summit.org. For more information, contact Emily Fisher at 405-736-0201 or efisher@rose.edu.
