New Or­leans tops Dodgers be­hind 9th-in­ning homers

Mike Aviles and Cal Towey hit back-to-back homers in the top of the ninth in­ning Fri­day night, and the New Or­leans Baby Cakes beat the Ok­la­homa City Dodgers 11-10 in a Pa­cific Coast League base­ball game at Chick­a­saw Brick­town Ball­park.

Aviles’ first homer with New Or­leans was a tworun shot that tied the game 10-10. Towey fol­lowed with a homer on the next pitch by re­liever Madi­son Younginer.

Ok­la­homa City ral­lied back from a 5-0 deficit and took a 10-8 lead in the bot­tom of the eighth in­ning on O’Koyea Dick­son’s 19th home run of the sea­son, a two-run shot in a pinch­hit­ting ap­pear­ance.

New Or­leans (37-55) con­tin­ued its suc­cess against an Ok­la­homa City team (49-42) that con­tin­ued to fall fur­ther be­hind di­vi­sion-lead­ing Colorado Springs. The Baby Cakes have won six of their last seven games against the Dodgers.
