Wait til it’s free

The Oklahoman (Sunday) - - OPINION -

I hear from many Democratic senators and representatives that the Republican health care bill will cause (according to Bernie Sanders) 28,000 people per year to die because of lack of access to insurance. I will make a much more probable assessment. We will see the deaths of 50,000 or more due the loss of innovation in our medical facilities. When we become a socialized medicine country, all the genius and wonderful medical innovations that have come about even in the past 10 years will be our last. There won’t be any incentive to be more than mediocre. Possible cures for cancer, Alzheimer’s, leukemia and the like will be, instead of just over the next hill, light years away. If you think health care is expensive now,

wait until it’s free.
