Fifth column

The Oklahoman (Sunday) - - OPINION -

What is it about this politic that seems to coarsen all acceptable norms of so-called “news gathering” and “public discourse”? There is no amount of letting up by either side. I, as many, never thought we would have a President Donald Trump. However now that we do, he should be given an opportunity to govern. What is really going on here? The mainstream media seems to have declared all-out war on this man. The MSM has never been so obviously in the tank for his opponent. And there are many swamp creatures (permanent inhabitants of a bloated federal government) who work to undermine him at every turn, aided by the rabid behavior of those in the so called “news business.”

I fear for our well-being in this environment where the free press acts more like a “fifth column” instead of a watchdog.
