Putnam City teachers to get pay raises

The Oklahoman (Sunday) - - NEWS -

Most teachers in the Putnam City school district will get a $660 raise this school year. The Putnam City Board of Education voted Monday to move teachers one step further on the salary schedule and to increase base pay by $180. The raises are retroactive to the beginning of the contract period.

Also approved were increases in extra duty pay, which teachers earn for taking on roles like coach, textbook coordinator or band, orchestra or vocal music director. Other board action involved starting pay for returning teachers, paid disability benefits and teacher retirement fund contributions. The total cost of all the changes is about $2.4 million.
