Art mu­seum to host writ­ing work­shop

NOR­MAN — Lo­cal writ­ers can tap into their imag­i­na­tions dur­ing a free writ­ing pro­gram from 2 to 4 p.m. Fri­day at the Fred Jones Jr. Mu­seum of Art, 555 Elm Ave.

“Prompted: A Writ­ing Work­shop” is guided by cre­ative writer and grad­u­ate stu­dent Matt Ja­cob­son. At­ten­dees will draw in­spi­ra­tion from im­ages and ar­ti­facts fea­tured in the cur­rent ex­hibit “Picher, Ok­la­homa: Catas­tro­phe, Mem­ory and Trauma.”

Todd Ste­wart, University of Ok­la­homa as­so­ciate pro­fes­sor of art, tech­nol­ogy and cul­ture, and photographer be­hind the ex­hi­bi­tion, will give an over­view of the show and dis­cuss the in­spi­ra­tion for his work.
