Sooners run-rule Jayhawks 15-4
Powered by a 13-run second inning, No. 2-ranked Oklahoma run-ruled Kansas 15-4 in five innings on Saturday in Norman.
The Jayhawks (24-17,
0-8) got on the board first as Jessie Roane hit a solo home run to left field in the opening frame.
In the bottom of the inning, OU’s Kylie Lundberg drew a walk with the bases loaded to bring Sydney Romero home.
Nicole Pendley followed suit in the second, walking with runners on to score Kelsey Arnold.
Then, Caleigh Clifton, Raegan Rogers, Fale Aviu and Jocelyn Alo each hit 2-RBI singles to put the Sooners on top 10-1. Pendley singled to drive in another run before Lundberg was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to plate Alexa Schultz. Rogers then drilled her second 2-RBI single of the game to give OU (37-2, 11-0) a 14-1 advantage.
OU’s 13 runs in an inning are its most in one inning since scoring 17 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in 2014.
