Moun­taineers power past Cow­boys 10-7

Af­ter seven straight con­fer­ence vic­to­ries, Ok­la­homa State had its streak snapped Satur­day in a 10-7 loss to West Vir­ginia at Monon­galia County Ball­park.

The loss dropped the Cow­boys to 8-3 in Big 12 play and 19-13-1 over­all and sets up a Sun­day rub­ber game, which is sched­uled for an 11 a.m. first pitch. OSU will try to claim its third con­sec­u­tive league se­ries win.

Of­fen­sively, Matt Kroon paced the Cow­boys with a 3-for-4 ef­fort that in­cluded a pair of dou­bles, while Chris­tian Funk was 2-for-3 with a dou­ble, two walks and three RBI.

Car­son Teel took the loss on the mound to fall to 4-2 on the year. The ju­nior left-han­der lasted just one in­ning as the Moun­taineers (16-16, 2-6) sent 11 bat­ters to the plate against him and tal­lied six runs.

First base­man Mar­ques In­man led the Moun­taineers on of­fense, go­ing 2-for-5 with one homer and four RBI.
