Chil­dren hos­pi­tal­ized af­ter NE OKC house fire

Two chil­dren were rushed to a hospi­tal Satur­day morn­ing af­ter they were pulled from a burn­ing house by Ok­la­homa City fire­fight­ers.

About 1 a.m., fire crews were sent to 1029 NE 28, where heavy fire could be seen com­ing from the back of the home. Af­ter be­ing told two chil­dren were in the home, fire­fight­ers found them in separate be­d­rooms and car­ried them out­side for treat­ment.

Both chil­dren were said to be in car­diac ar­rest af­ter be­ing res­cued, fire of­fi­cials said. The two chil­dren, whose names were not re­leased, were taken to Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal at OU Med­i­cal Cen­ter.

Of­fi­cials said there were no work­ing smoke alarms in the home.
