Suicide prevention topic of OKDHS lecture
To highlight Oklahoma’s national rank of eighth in suicide rates, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services will present suicide prevention experts Robin Hudson LeBlanc and Melissa Reese Casey.
The talk on July 26 will be a part of the OKDHS Practice and Policy Lecture Series. It will be at 1 p.m. at the Oklahoma History Center. Both speakers will discuss the warning signs and risk factors of suicide, prevention, and more.
LeBlanc is the first suicide survivor to chair the Oklahoma Suicide Prevention Council. Casey is a suicide survivor trained in evidence-based suicide prevention and awareness and is a strong advocate of suicide prevention and postvention education.
