BRYANT SQUARE MOVING FORWARD

-

InvenTrust Properties Corp., owners of Bryant Square Shopping Center, has spent more than $6 million since July on redeveloping the property on the southeast corner of Bryant Avenue and Second Street.

Owners are ready to demolish the two buildings where Firestone and Mackie McNear’s Steakhouse were located, said Janet Yowell, Edmond Economic Development Authority executive director. New buildings will match the exterior design of the shopping center being updated.

PDQ is expected to open in the Mackie McNear’s location and Torchy’s Taco, which has a location in Norman, is expected to open in the Firestone location.

PDQ, which stands for People Dedicated to Quality, is a fast casual restaurant specializing in hand-battered chicken tenders, made-to-order sandwiches, daily cut fries, handspun milkshakes and salads. This will be its first restaurant in Oklahoma, according to its website.

Owners also have an approved site plan for a new building where CiCi’s Pizza was located. CiCi’s Pizza is moving to the northern section of the shopping center.

The first new store, Five Below, offering trendy merchandise for the teen and preteen market for $1 to $5, has opened in a renovated space on the center’s east side.
