FRAUD SUSPECT SURRENDERS
ADA — Ada man Shane Mark Lynch, 35, surrendered to authorities at the Pontotoc County jail Thursday for charges stemming from an investigation of the sale of cattle over the internet, the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) said Friday.
Lynch was charged with obtaining merchandise or money by false pretenses and was released on a $10,000 bond. He is accused of agreeing to sell cows and calves for $80,000, receiving payment and not delivering the cattle, said TSCRA Special Ranger Bart Perrier, who led the investigation along with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Special Agent Ricky Rushing.
Lynch admitted he advertised the cattle and sold them before he actually owned the cattle in question and that he was unable to pay back the money or buy cattle similar to the ones advertised to deliver to the victim as agreed, TSCRA said.
