Four killed in weekend wrecks

Four people died in wrecks on state roads, including two children and an adult in a Turner Turnpike crash, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Karen L. Humphrey, 64, Oklahoma City

About 6:05 a.m. Sunday, Humphrey was driving south on State Highway 92, about 1 ½ miles east of Chickasha in Grady County. Troopers said Humphrey failed to yield at a stop sign, and her car was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Robert D. Burns, 28, of Chickasha.

Both Humphrey and Burns were wearing seat belts.

Linda D. Irie, 50, Norman; an unidentifi­ed 9-year-old girl; an unidentifi­ed 5-year-old boy

The crash involved four vehicles about 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the Turner Turnpike, about a mile east of Wellston. What happened is under investigat­ion, troopers said.

All eight people involved in the collisions were wearing seat belts.
