Blackberry Festival includes parade

The McLoud Blackberry Festival is set for next weekend at the McLoud High School Athletic Complex. The festival is from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 1. Blackberries will be for sale as fresh fruit, blackberry cobbler, soda and tea. Activities will include old-fashioned sack races and turtle races, a carnival, fair food, crafts and a poker run. The Blackberry Parade starts at 10 a.m. July 1 and follows the downtown route on Broadway Street. The Blackberry Royalty Pageant is set for 7 p.m. July 1 and a fireworks show at 10 p.m. For more information, call 964-6566.
