OU guard Morgan Rich to miss season
The Oklahoma women’s basketball team lost a bit of depth with the announcement that redshirt sophomore Morgan Rich will miss the season.
The Kentucky transfer suffered a season-ending knee injury during team workouts and will undergo surgery.
Rich played in three games last season as a redshirt freshman, and joined the Sooners as mid-year enrollee following a fall semester at Kentucky.
Rich was ranked as the No. 30 player in the nation in the class of 2015 by ESPN’s Hoop Gurlz and averaged 20.0 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in high school.
Sooners blanked by Washington
The Oklahoma volleyball team opened the Maryland Challenge on Thursday with a 3-0 loss to No. 7-ranked Washington at the XFINITY Center. The Huskies notched 25-8, 25-10 and 25-23 wins against an OU team that fell to 3-7 on the season.
Washington moved to 9-1.
Alyssa Enneking led OU with 12 kills. Eight of those kills came in the third set as the Sooners tried to avoid a sweep. The Sooners play twice Friday, starting with a 10 a.m. match against Maryland and followed by a 3 p.m. match with No. 18 USC.
