Doctor arrested in fatal wreck
A doctor was arrested Friday, accused of striking and killing a motorcyclist with his car along Interstate 35, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
About 1:45 a.m. Friday, Bryan Frank Perry, 47, was driving a vehicle north on the highway, near SE 33rd in Edmond, when the vehicle struck the rear of the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene, according to a news release.
Perry, a cardiologist at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, did not stop after the collision and continued north on the highway before driving off the road and crashing into a light pole, troopers said.
Perry left the vehicle on foot and was later located by Edmond police. He was arrested after a brief struggle and booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of manslaughter, DUI and failure to report and render aid at the scene of a fatal collision.
The name of the motorcyclist has not been released.
Troopers are asking anyone with information on Perry’s whereabouts before the crash or anyone who witnessed the crash to call 425-2323.
