SHAWNEE — Rain again forced another change to the softball state tournaments.

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association postponed Friday’s state semifinals and championships scheduled to be played at The Ball Fields at Firelake to Wednesday due to overnight rainfall.

The schedule will remain the same with Class 5A and Class 4A semifinals being at 11 a.m. and the championship games at 4 p.m. Class 6A’s semifinals will be at 1:30 p.m. with the championship at 6:30 p.m.

Last week, the Class 3A-B state tournaments were also played in two days.

OSSAA assistant director Amy Cassell said the fields were too wet following rain earlier this week and early Friday morning. Wednesday’s forecast is comparable to Thursday’s opening day of the tournament and it follows what is forecast to be two dry days.
