Red­lands group plans Na­tive Amer­i­can Her­itage Month events

The Red­lands Com­mu­nity Col­lege Na­tive Amer­i­can Stu­dent Or­ga­ni­za­tion will present sev­eral events Tues­day through Thurs­day in recog­ni­tion of Na­tive Amer­i­can Her­itage Month.

The or­ga­ni­za­tion will part­ner with the Cheyenne and Ara­paho Tribes’ Higher Ed­u­ca­tion De­part­ment to hold a col­lege and ca­reer fair for area high school stu­dents from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tues­day in the Red­lands Con­fer­ence Cen­ter.

Also planned is an ex­hi­bi­tion of Na­tive Amer­i­can danc­ing be­gin­ning at 10 a.m. Thurs­day in the con­fer­ence cen­ter. Cheyenne Chief Gor­don Yel­low­man will host the event, which will fea­ture a va­ri­ety of women’s and men’s dances and free In­dian tacos.
