Thunder's Roberson participates in first restart practice

-

Thunder guard Andre Roberson was a full participant in practice Friday, the team's first practice at Disney World.

“He looked really, really good in terms of the way he was moving,” Thunder coach Billy Donovan said. “It was great to see him out t here. I was really, really happy for him. But I think like what we've talked about in the past, we' ll see how he can continue to build up and develop here over the next week, but he was out there today and he participated in everything.”

Roberson last played for the Thunder on Jan. 27, 2018, when he ruptured the patellar tendon in his left knee. If he plays for the Thunder when the season resumes Aug. 1, Roberson will have overcome a lay off of more than 30 months between games.

“He looks great, and so I'm very happy to see him back because I know what it means to be out for that long and for a bad injury,” Thunder forward Danilo Gallinari said. “To see him back, just to see the joy that he brings, the energy that he brings to the team, it's great to see him out here with us.”

The Thunder's practice Friday was its first since the season was suspended in March.
