The Capital Savings and Loan building in downtown Olympia opened to fanfare in mid-1963. The classic mid-Century modern building included a water feature, futuristic sweeping roofline, and sleek interior. The building has recently been accepted onto the National Register of Historic Places and is being restored. In this photograph taken on or near opening day, rows of tellers and officers await customers.
