Myers top pick for NY 22

-

First Lady Michelle Obama’s positive slogan “when they go low, we go high” comes to mind now whenever I hear politicians make offensive comments.

While at a campaign stop, Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney referred to congressional candidate Kim Myers as “more of a housewife.” I get it. She was trying to undermine and disqualify her opponent with the audience. But it won’t work.

Kim Myers is a wife and proud mother of six. She knows working in the home and raising children is real work and nothing to dismiss or demean. Her top priority in running for Congress is to create a vibrant economy for Central New York families. Because women are the backbone of our economy, Kim, unlike Claudia Tenney, unequivocally supports equal pay for equal work and paid family leave.

Kim Myers has a strong record of business experience and community service starting with working in her family’s business, opening her own small business, serving for 18 years on the Vestal School Board, and winning elections to the Broome County Legislature. These achievements absolutely qualify her for Congress and are solid reasons for voting for her on Nov. 8.
