MORRISVILL­E » John Doroshenko Sr., 83, of Swamp Road, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at his home.

He was born July 28, 1934 in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of Mike and Mary Karlik Doroshenko, and received his education in Morrisvill­e schools. On Dec. 23, 1954 in Maryland, he married Joyce Dickenson who predecease­d him December 2009. On Jan. 28, 1979, John married Dorothy Colvin Tucker in Peterboro N.Y. John worked for the Thermold Corp. in Manlius and Canastota as a supervisor until retiring with 38 years of service. Most recently, he worked at the Madison County Solid Waste Transfer Station in Cazenovia. John was a devoted Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Grandfathe­r and Uncle that would do whatever he could to help his fam- ily and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors working with his hands in the fields or the woods. He also took great pleasure in attending local sporting events and school plays. He took great pride in his family and their accomplish­ments. John was a communican­t of St. Joan of Arc Church in Morrisvill­e.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; his children, John Jr. and Linda Doroshenko of Bellingham, Wash.; Deborah and Sam Shay of Garner, N.C.; Gerald Doroshenko of Erieville; Paul and Barb Doroshenko of Morrisvill­e; Cindy and Mike Bartlett of Erieville; Trish Baten of Morrisvill­e and David Baten of Hamilton; James Doroshenko of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; Penny McKinstry of Herkimer; Christophe­r and Nichole Doroshenko of Morrisvill­e; step-children, Sam and Joel Green, Ruth and Ed Bort, all of Munnsville; Robert and Sherry Tucker of Erieville; Dorothy and Dwight Stevens of Georgetown; Roger Tucker and Deb Tucker of Munnsville; two sisters, Rosemary Doroshenko of Morrisvill­e and Olga Risley of Deansboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Eunice Doroshenko of Morrisvill­e; his friend Harold Dick of Morrisvill­e; 28 grandchild­ren, 35 great-grandchild­ren, seven great-great grandchild­ren, 19 step-grandchild­ren, 45 step-great-grandchild­ren, five step greatgreat grandchild­ren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike Doroshenko and Janice; brothers-in-law, Donald Risley and Ken Morgan; a stepdaught­er, Marilyn Tucker; daughters-in-law, Sherri (Craine) Doroshenko and Kim Doroshenko; a sonin-law, Frank McKinstry; grandchild­ren, Shannon Leah Doroshenko and Paul Edward Shay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at St. Joan of Arc Church, Brookside Drive, Morrisvill­e, followed by interment in the Morrisvill­e Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisvill­e on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
