MORRISVILLE » John Doroshenko Sr., 83, of Swamp Road, passed away Sun­day, Sept. 24, 2017 at his home.

He was born July 28, 1934 in Brook­lyn, N.Y., a son of Mike and Mary Kar­lik Doroshenko, and re­ceived his ed­u­ca­tion in Morrisville schools. On Dec. 23, 1954 in Mary­land, he mar­ried Joyce Dick­en­son who pre­de­ceased him De­cem­ber 2009. On Jan. 28, 1979, John mar­ried Dorothy Colvin Tucker in Peter­boro N.Y. John worked for the Ther­mold Corp. in Man­lius and Canas­tota as a su­per­vi­sor un­til re­tir­ing with 38 years of ser­vice. Most re­cently, he worked at the Madi­son County Solid Waste Trans­fer Sta­tion in Cazenovia. John was a de­voted Hus­band, Fa­ther, Son, Brother, Grand­fa­ther and Un­cle that would do what­ever he could to help his fam- ily and friends. He en­joyed be­ing out­doors work­ing with his hands in the fields or the woods. He also took great plea­sure in at­tend­ing lo­cal sport­ing events and school plays. He took great pride in his fam­ily and their ac­com­plish­ments. John was a com­mu­ni­cant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Morrisville.

Sur­viv­ing are his wife, Dorothy; his chil­dren, John Jr. and Linda Doroshenko of Belling­ham, Wash.; Deb­o­rah and Sam Shay of Garner, N.C.; Ger­ald Doroshenko of Erieville; Paul and Barb Doroshenko of Morrisville; Cindy and Mike Bartlett of Erieville; Tr­ish Baten of Morrisville and David Baten of Hamil­ton; James Doroshenko of Fuquay-Va­rina, N.C.; Penny McKinstry of Herkimer; Christo­pher and Ni­c­hole Doroshenko of Morrisville; step-chil­dren, Sam and Joel Green, Ruth and Ed Bort, all of Munnsville; Robert and Sherry Tucker of Erieville; Dorothy and Dwight Stevens of Ge­orge­town; Roger Tucker and Deb Tucker of Munnsville; two sis­ters, Rose­mary Doroshenko of Morrisville and Olga Ris­ley of Deans­boro; a brother and sis­ter-in-law, Pe­ter and Eu­nice Doroshenko of Morrisville; his friend Harold Dick of Morrisville; 28 grand­chil­dren, 35 great-grand­chil­dren, seven great-great grand­chil­dren, 19 step-grand­chil­dren, 45 step-great-grand­chil­dren, five step great­great grand­chil­dren, and many nieces and neph­ews. He was pre­de­ceased by his par­ents; a brother and sis­ter-in-law, Mike Doroshenko and Jan­ice; broth­ers-in-law, Don­ald Ris­ley and Ken Mor­gan; a step­daugh­ter, Mar­i­lyn Tucker; daugh­ters-in-law, Sherri (Craine) Doroshenko and Kim Doroshenko; a sonin-law, Frank McKinstry; grand­chil­dren, Shan­non Leah Doroshenko and Paul Ed­ward Shay.

A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be cel­e­brated at 10 a.m. Satur­day, Sept. 30, 2017 at St. Joan of Arc Church, Brook­side Drive, Morrisville, fol­lowed by in­ter­ment in the Morrisville Ceme­tery.

Friends are in­vited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Fu­neral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville on Fri­day from 4-7 p.m.
