SYL­VAN BEACH » Ron­ald A. Fritz passed away peace­fully on Fri­day, Nov. 10, 2017. “Fritz,” as he was known to fam­ily and friends, was born in Oneida, N.Y. on Jan. 10, 1925. He at­tended Oneida High School. In high school, he was called “Rocket Ron­nie” for his speed and dex­ter­ity on the foot­ball field.

Fritz served in WWII in the Coast Guard aboard the Man­i­tauk. The Man­i­tauk pa­trolled the North At­lantic. Af­ter the war, Fritz worked for Oneida Lim­ited and re­tired as a fore­man. Af­ter re­tir­ing, Fritz and his sec­ond wife Mary opened Fritz’s Lake­view, a res­tau­rant and tav­ern. Fritz and Mary ran the Lake­view from 1977 to 1990, when they re­tired to­gether. In 1991, they de­cided to open Mary’s Place, which they ran to­gether un­til 2007 when they de­cided to re­tire for good.

Fritz is sur­vived by his daugh­ter, Diane (Tom) Liebst, his son, Gary (Sarah) Fritz, and two grand­chil­dren.

At Fritz’s re­quest, there will be no ser­vices.
