SVCS board will meet Dec. 12

MUNNSVILLE » The reg­u­lar meet­ing of the Stock­bridge Val­ley Cen­tral School Board of Ed­u­ca­tion will be held Tues­day, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in room S201 at the school, 6011 Wil­liams Road.

Hol­i­day hours at land­fill

TOWN OF LIN­COLN » The Madi­son County Solid Waste Depart­ment has an­nounced its hol­i­day op­er­at­ing hours. The main land­fill on Buyea Road, the four trans­fer sta­tions and the Arc Recycling Cen­ter will close at 10:45 a.m. on Satur­day, Dec. 23 and will be closed Mon­day, Dec. 25 and Mon­day, Jan. 1. The depart­ment of­fices on Buyea Road will close at 11:30 a.m. on Fri­day, Dec. 22, and will be closed Mon­day, Dec. 25 and Mon­day, Jan. 1.

MCCONNELLSVILLE » McConnellsville Gar­den Club will meet Mon­day, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at McConnellsville Com­mu­nity Church, 2884 Main St. Mem­bers are asked to bring a cloth­ing item such as gloves, scarves or knit caps for the Cloth­ing Con­nec­tion, which of­fers warm cloth­ing to those in need. There will also be a mone­tary col­lec­tion for the Christ­mas Purse which ben­e­fits Clus­ter 13 Min­istries, Cloth­ing Con­nec­tion and Cam­den Food Pantry. Mem­bers are also asked to bring an ap­pe­tizer to share.

Re­cy­cle cook­ing oil

LIN­COLN » Madi­son County res­i­dents can re­cy­cle used cook­ing oil at the Buyea Road trans­fer sta­tion free of charge. Grease and oil from deep fry­ers should be placed in a clean con­tainer and dropped off dur­ing the site’s op­er­at­ing hours, 7:10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tues­days through Saturdays. The site will close at 10:45 a.m. Satur­day, Dec. 23. Only cook­ing grease and oil are re­cy­cled; no petroleum prod­ucts are al­lowed.

Din­ner with Santa served Dec. 1

ONEIDA » St. Pa­trick’s School, 354 El­iz­a­beth St., will hold a Din­ner with Santa on Fri­day, Dec. 1 from 5-8 p.m. Tick­ets are $9 for adults, $7 for se­niors and $5 for chil­dren.
