Hol­i­day Bazaar and Cookie Walk

VERONA » Verona Pres­by­te­rian Church will hold a Hol­i­day Bazaar on Satur­day, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. fea­tur­ing new and al­most new hol­i­day dec­o­ra­tions and gifts, plus many lo­cal crafters. The church will also have its an­nual Cookie Walk fea­tur­ing sev­eral va­ri­eties made by ladies of the church. Lunch will be avail­able of­fer­ing home­made soup and chili.

Up­com­ing events at Au­gusta Church

ORISKANY FALLS » Au­gusta Pres­by­te­rian Church, 2345 Route 26, will have a Hang­ing of the Greens ser­vice on Satur­day, Dec. 2 be­gin­ning at 6 p.m. with a potluck sup­per fol­lowed by the decoration of the sanc­tu­ary. The ser­vice will in­clude read­ings of the Christ­mas story and the singing of carols.

On Tues­day, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m., Dr. Jay G. Wil­liams of Hamil­ton Col­lege will give a pre­sen­ta­tion on Thomas Nast and his Christ­mas prints, es­pe­cially his de­pic­tion of Santa Claus. Par­tic­i­pants are en­cour­aged to bring Christ­mas cook­ies to share with oth­ers in at­ten­dance. The event is free and open to the pub­lic.

The church will host a Christ­mas con­cert with na­tional record­ing artist Sherry Anne on Sun­day, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.

The pub­lic is wel­come to at­tend. A love of­fer­ing will be ac­cepted.

Mid-week Ad­vent ser­vices con­tinue

CANAS­TOTA » Grace Lutheran Church will hold Mid-week Ad­vent Ser­vices on Wed­nes­days, Dec. 6, 13 and 20 at 7 p.m. at the church, 3965 Carter Road. Hol­i­day Cookie Sale set for Dec. 9

ONEIDA » Sil­ver Star Chap- ter No. 21, Order of Eastern Star will hold a Hol­i­day Cookie Sale on Satur­day, Dec. 9 be­gin­ning at 9 a.m. at the Ma­sonic Build­ing, 611 Stone St. Cook­ies and candy will be sell­ing for $8 per pound. Christ­mas items will also be avail­able.

Chris­tian artist Sherry Anne will per­form Dec. 15

CLARK MILLS » Clark Mills United Methodist Church, 30 Clin­ton St., will host a Christ­mas con­cert at 7 p.m. on Fri­day, Dec. 15 to ben­e­fit In­ter­na­tional Chris­tian Cen­ters for the Deaf. A free will of­fer­ing will be col­lected to ben­e­fit the or­ga­ni­za­tion help­ing im­pov­er­ished deaf chil­dren in the Bahamas, Cuba and Mex­ico; dona­tions are tax-de­ductible. The Sounds of Hope Christ­mas con­cert will fea­ture na­tional record­ing artist Sherry Anne, who was born with a bi­lat­eral hear­ing and speech im­pair­ment, yet sings with an el­e­gant voice that blends a pas­sion for South­ern Gos- pel-style, coun­try, and blues mu­sic with her deep faith.

Ear­lier this year, Sherry Anne shared the mis­sion of the In­ter­na­tional Chris­tian Cen­ters for the Deaf in a pro­mo­tional video, avail­able for view­ing at www. sher­ryanne.com.

Break­fast with Santa served Dec. 16

ONEIDA » The Fi­delity As­sem­bly No. 30 of the In­ter­na­tional Order of the Rain­bow for Girls will host a Break­fast with Santa on Satur­day, Dec. 16 from 8-11 a.m. at the Ma­sonic Lodge at 611 Stone St. Pro­ceeds from this event will help to pay for Grand As­sem­bly 2019. Menu in­cludes pan­cakes (choco­late or cin­na­mon chip, plain and gluten free) scram­bled eggs, home fries, ba­con/sausage, and bev­er­age for $8 adults and $4 for ages 4-12. Chil­dren younger than 4 are free. Santa will be on hand for photos. There will also be a bake sale to help the girls raise funds for their var­i­ous char­i­ties and the state schol­ar­ship fund.

An­nual Prayer Brunch planned for Dec. 9

WAMPSVILLE » The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Val­ley wel­comes for­mer Dis­ney il­lus­tra­tor Davy Liu to its third An­nual Prayer Brunch on Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at New Be­gin­nings Church. 227 Ge­ne­see St.

Liu worked for Dis­ney as a young man and il­lus­trated movies in­clud­ing “The Lion King,” “Aladdin” and “Mu­lan.” He is a Chris­tian speaker, au­thor, and ad­vo­cate for youths. He will join Pas­tor Charles Gar­ri­son, from the New Ge­n­e­sis Bi­ble Church in New Or­leans as a speaker for the event. The world renowned Boys & Girls Choir of Har­lem Alumni Ensem­ble will per­form sev­eral spir­i­tu­als and Christ­mas songs.

Tick­ets are $20. All pro­ceeds ben­e­fit the YMCA’s Chang­ing Lives Schol­ar­ship fund, which helps sup­port those in the com­mu­nity who can­not af­ford mem­ber­ship or pro­grams at the Y. Food will be pro­vided by Madi­son Bistro. Those at­tend­ing are en­cour­aged to bring a canned food item to help ben­e­fit lo­cal food pantries. Se­nior min­istry of­fered Wed­nes­days

VERONA » St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will hold a Chris­tian Min­istry for Se­niors each Wed­nes­day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 4897 Old Oneida Road. There will be cof­fee and con­ver­sa­tion, Bi­ble study, and at 10:30 a.m. a spe­cial pro­gram will be held. There will also be ex­er­cise and lunch at noon.

Friend­ship Inn open each Thurs­day

MOR­RISVILLE » Friend­ship Inn at St. Joan of Arc Church of­fers a free weekly meal to the Mor­risville com­mu­nity ev­ery Thurs­day from 5-6:30 p.m. Non­de­nom­i­na­tional and open to all, re­gard­less of fi­nan­cial need, Friend­ship Inn draws on a small army of vol­un­teers who ful­fill nu­mer­ous tasks, from set-up, cook­ing, serv­ing, to cleanup. Vol­un­teers are al­ways needed. Dona­tions are wel­come as well to sup­ple­ment food of­fer­ings and to pur­chase equip­ment and sup­plies.
