Water district meeting at Vernon Town Office

VERNON » Officials from the Town of Vernon and Oneida County will host an informational meeting for residents interested in the newly formed water district in Vernon Center on Wednesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. at the Town of Vernon Office Building on Peterboro Street.

The Town of Vernon recently adopted a resolution to form a new water district in the hamlet of Vernon Center. The proposed water district will adjoin the existing Village of Vernon system to nearly 300 residents and parcels in the hamlet of Vernon Center and proposed water connector route.

The meeting will provide updates and progress to date and outline next steps being taken to apply for grants to secure state funding for the project. Drawings of the plans for the proposed water district will be available, along with engineering details and grant specifications. The meeting will be facilitated by Town Supervisor Randy Watson and Oneida County Legislator Keith Schiebel.
