What does the Arc of the Glades do?
The Arc of the Glades provides adult education, prevocational, sheltered activities, vocational, supported living, supported employment and community integration services for adults with cognitive or other developmental disabilities. Support services include transportation, and two meals and a snack daily for participants in the Adult Day Training Program. How does The Arc of the Glades benefit the community?
The goal i s to increase independence, and prepare or provide support to individuals, as they live, work and interact within their community. As the area served is faced with issues such as high unemployment, povert y and hunger, our job becomes even more important to help the target population overcome natural community barriers as well as their personal challenges. What is your focus for 2017?
Our goal for 2017 is to assist more individuals with meeting their life goals of greater independence and improved quality of life. How can our community help?
The community can help by providing any of the following: financial support to maintain programs, paid e mployment o ppor t uni - ties, volunteer opportunities alongside other community members, quality affordable housing and social and recreational opportunities for those we serve. To provide advocacy and opportunity for individuals with disabilities to enjoy independence and an enhanced quality of life with enriched life experiences.
