What does the Arc of the Glades do?

The Arc of the Glades pro­vides adult ed­u­ca­tion, pre­vo­ca­tional, shel­tered ac­tiv­i­ties, vo­ca­tional, sup­ported liv­ing, sup­ported em­ploy­ment and com­mu­nity in­te­gra­tion ser­vices for adults with cog­ni­tive or other de­vel­op­men­tal dis­abil­i­ties. Sup­port ser­vices in­clude trans­porta­tion, and two meals and a snack daily for par­tic­i­pants in the Adult Day Train­ing Pro­gram. How does The Arc of the Glades ben­e­fit the com­mu­nity?

The goal i s to in­crease in­de­pen­dence, and pre­pare or pro­vide sup­port to in­di­vid­u­als, as they live, work and in­ter­act within their com­mu­nity. As the area served is faced with is­sues such as high un­em­ploy­ment, povert y and hunger, our job be­comes even more im­por­tant to help the tar­get pop­u­la­tion over­come nat­u­ral com­mu­nity bar­ri­ers as well as their per­sonal chal­lenges. What is your fo­cus for 2017?

Our goal for 2017 is to as­sist more in­di­vid­u­als with meet­ing their life goals of greater in­de­pen­dence and im­proved qual­ity of life. How can our com­mu­nity help?

The com­mu­nity can help by pro­vid­ing any of the fol­low­ing: fi­nan­cial sup­port to main­tain pro­grams, paid e mploy­ment o ppor t uni - ties, vol­un­teer op­por­tu­ni­ties along­side other com­mu­nity mem­bers, qual­ity af­ford­able hous­ing and so­cial and recre­ational op­por­tu­ni­ties for those we serve. To pro­vide ad­vo­cacy and op­por­tu­nity for in­di­vid­u­als with dis­abil­i­ties to en­joy in­de­pen­dence and an en­hanced qual­ity of life with en­riched life ex­pe­ri­ences.
