A lo­cal non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cated to elim­i­nat­ing racism, empowering women and pro­mot­ing peace, jus­tice, free­dom and dig­nity for all. The YWCA is celebrating its 100th year of ser­vice in Palm Beach County.

The YWCA of­fers pro­grams that are aimed at im­prov­ing the lives of women and girls in Palm Beach County. All of th­ese pro­grams help im­prove eco­nomic em­pow­er­ment, racial jus­tice and civil rights, as well as ad­vo­cacy, child care and help­ing teens.

The Har­mony House was opened in 1975 as the first do­mes­tic vi­o­lence shel­ter for women in Palm Beach County. It is able to house 72 women at a time, al­low­ing them to es­cape a vi­o­lent sit­u­a­tion (with their chil­dren), work with a vol­un­teer on se­cur­ing their fi­nances and pre­pare for life on their own.
