including this one in Jupiter, that serve a variety of bagels, muffiffins and sandwiches.

ATMOSPHERE

With décor evocative of all things Brooklyn, the restaurant is set up like a fastfood eatery, with chairs and tables very close together. You order your food at the c ounter. Dri nks a re s el fserve, which can cause additional congestion. Dining outside is a good option, weather permitting.

MENU

Bagels are the mainstay, but there are other options: bialys , muffins, omelets. Lunch includes a variety of sandwiches, including egg, chicken or tuna salad, ham and swiss, and roast turkey. Menus do vary according to location.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

Does Brooklyn water make a difffffffffffference in the bagels? I don’t know, but everyone enjoyed the cinnamon raisin bagels I brought home ($6.49 for a half dozen). My 201 N. U.S. 1, Jupiter, 561-277-9757 (visit www. brooklynwaterbagel.com/locations/ for other Palm Beach County locations)

Daily, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. husband went all-out with his Jersey Boy bagel ($6.49), which included egg, American cheese and ham on a plain bagel. It was a little messy, but tasted wonderful he said. The bacon-andcheese omelet ($8.48) was tasty and came with hash browns, a bagel (I chose asiago — yum!) and a choice of mixed fruit or tomatoes.

REASON TO GO

A fresh bagel with cream cheese is a great way to kick start the day. Get there early for the best selection. I plan to go back for a bialy — they were all sold out the day I was there. Besides the Jupiter store I visited, there are locations in Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton.

SERVICE

I got my order to go, but service was friendly, quick and — most import ant — accurate.

NOISE LEVEL

I stopped by on a Saturday morning and it was crowded. Every table inside was taken. It was very noisy, but that’s to be expected in a busy breakfast place.

KID FRIENDLY

Very casual. Kids will have a great time here. I saw several families with little ones when I stopped in.
