Fun, vibrant atmosphere with brick floors and columns, Chili’s in Jensen Beach is like a favorite lodge where you meet friends and family for good times. The rich wood tones and earth colors are soothing, and there’s a full-service bar with TV sets for enjoying cocktails and conversation.

Even after the chain pared down i t s once - exte nsive menu in 2017, Chili’s still had enough offfffffffffferings to satisfy our diverse group of culinary tastes at dinner recently. While I dined on the bottomless soup, salad and tortilla chips ($9.39), a friend ordered the Mix-and-Match Fajita Trio ($17.49), choosing steak, chicken and shrimp 2988 NW Federal Highway, Jensen Beach, 772-692-4838

Sun.-Thurs., 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; F-Sat., 11 a.m.midnight sizzled in chipotle butter, cilantro, bell peppers and onions. Served with Mexican rice, black beans, guacamole, sour cream, pico, salsa, shredded cheese and flflour or corn tortillas, the meal was a spectacle to behold and sample. The chipotle spice nicely accented the meat, which was fork-tender, and the abundance of toppings made for numerous possible flflavor combinations. My husband enjoyed his “Guiltless Grill” entrée, a 6-ounce sirloin with grilled avocado, tomatoes and salad that weighed in at only 420 calories.

A f un pl a c e to e at a nd socialize, Chili’s is a go-to favorite in our household. Its food is fresh and inexpensive, and there’s always something on the menu to satisfy choosy palates. Area locations also include Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Lantana, Palm Springs, Wellington, West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Stuart and Port St. Lucie. SERVICE Very good. The waitress was attentive and served up the meals and refifills quickly. She also helped us redeem rewards on the table-top checkout kiosk.

Fairly quiet on a recent weeknight.

The kids menu is almost as extensive as their adult counterpar ts. What t yke c o u l d n’ t go f o r a p i z z a , cheesy chicken pasta, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, grilled chicken dippers, burgers, quesadillas or crispy chicken fifingers?
