En­joy a 90-minute ses­sion of calm­ing, ther­a­peu­tic yoga us­ing an­cient Kemetic pos­tures and teach­ings ev­ery Satur­day in the Spady’s Wil­liams Cot­tage, ad­ja­cent to the mu­seum.

Youth who ar­rive at the Spady Cul­tural Her­itage Mu­seum for camp forgo the usual pool, zoo and park ex­pe­ri­ences, opt­ing in­stead to learn the art, crafts and ex­pres­sion of African-Amer­i­can cul­tures for $50 per child. The sched­ule will fea­ture teach­ing artists, im­part­ing lessons of his­tor­i­cal im­por­tance and ex­hibit cre­ation to the next gen­er­a­tion. The YCEC is a six-week in­ten­sive pro­gram from June to Au­gust that fo­cuses on build­ing self-es­teem, cul­tural iden­tity and so­cial and civic re­spon­si­bil­ity in youth. The pro­gram was cre­ated to ad­dress the need to pro­vide youth with an arts and cul­tural her­itage im­mer­sion pro­gram to en­hance the Palm Beach County School Dis­trict’s black his­tory cur­ricu­lum in a his­tor­i­cal en­vi­ron­ment. con­tin­ued from 3
