AT­MOS­PHERE

Hi p a n d t r o p i c a l , t h i s beachy restau­rant lies along the down­town Stu­art River­walk and of­fers a wa­ter­front view from ev­ery ta­ble. Walls and dé­cor are pas­tel blue, green and peach, and ceil­ing-to-floor win­dows give din­ers an up-close view of the teem­ing St. Lu­cie River be­low. A large square bar sits in the heart of the ac­tion, and fam­i­lies can dine in a kid-friendly room with video games, toys, car­toons on the TV and ar­cade games while still en­joy­ing a river­front view.

Sun.-Thurs., 8 a.m.-10 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 8 a.m.-mid­night. fries ($15.99) was a de­light­ful ver­sion of an old fa­vorite, loaded with co­conut bread­ing and fried to a crispy brown ex­te­rior. The Texas burger ($11.49) was a huge beef patty loaded with ba­con, ched­dar and bar­be­cue sauce and topped with an onion ring. We ate slowly, soak­ing in ev­ery minute of the glo­ri­ous view.

REA­SON TO GO

For a tasty, Key-West-style din­ner that fore­goes va­ca­tion prices, Mul­li­gan’s i s a fa­vorite on the Trea­sure Coast. The down­town Stu­art lo­ca­tion moved to its new spot in De­cem­ber 2016, so if you haven’t been in a while, you’re in for a treat. Other loc ations in­clude Jensen Beach and Lake Worth.
