Rotisserie chicken stars on C.R. Chicks menu
Wo o d - f i r e d r o t i s s e r i e chicken is the star at C.R. Chicks. Prices are mainly in the single digits. A whole chicken with two large side dishes goes for $15.50. There are also salads, sandwiches, chicken pot pie, meatloaf, soups, pasta and desserts.
C.R. Chicks i s a c asu al chain with seven locations in Palm Beach County. Located a few doors down from Publix, the Palm Springs rest aurant has a few t ables, but most of the traffic during our visit was for carryout ord e r s . The i nt e r i or looked like it was due for a full makeover.
OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE
The chicken part of the half-chicken dinner ($8 for chicken and two sides) was ver y good. The bird was smoky and tender. The sides were hit and miss. We liked the horseradi sh mashed potatoes, but the c arrots and green beans were overcooked, and the cucumber salad was overly dressed.
REASON TO GO
Filling food at value prices. A quarter-chicken with two sides costs only $6.
We ordered carryout at the counter, so service wasn’t a huge factor, but our servers were friendly.
