Furnish your bathroom with style

With continued accent placed on relaxed and comfortable living at home, the bathroom has seen a wealth of cabinet and fixture designs that fulfill the needs of the most design savvy. At this year’s popular Interior Design Show, IDS2016, the bathroom industry was in full stride. Simple, clean lines with an industrial edge, apronfront farm sinks and elegant handcrafted, precision-molded pieces were all on display. I was captivated by the selection at the GODI exhibit (www. godibathroom.ca). Their Italian-designed collections show progressive design features that combine high style with practical beauty. Here are two very different takes on the well-dressed bath.

From the Elegant series, this modern collection features 3-D contouring. The details on the vanity show diamond-cut shapes. A white highgloss finish on the solid oak structure accentuates the three-dimensional design. The countertop is crystal white quartz with undermount basins. Above the vanity is a solid wood framed mirror shaped to complement the 3-D image. Unique to this series, LEDs run across the top of the mir- ror, available in different colors. For smaller bathrooms there is a 30-inch single vanity. The floating style lends a light, modern aspect to any room.

In their Vanilla Sky series, GODI gives full reign to the classic lines of fine furniture. The wood design is handcarved on the solid walnut drawers, and their curved shape offers ample storage. The organic curving shape of the mirror is a lovely surprise. It highlights the beauty of the wood and creates an additional dimension to the set.
