A diversified economy is key to any real estate market, and Jupiter is adding to its economy via its growing biotechnology sector.

Biotechnology harnesses cellular and biomolecular processes to develop technologies that help improve lives and the health of our planet. Some estimates say the biotechnology sector could add over 100,000 new jobs throughout the nation in the coming years.

Scripps Research Institute, which is one of the most prestigious biomedical science organizations in the country and is headquartered in La Jolla, Calif., has a 30-acre campus in Jupiter, Fla. Scripps opened the Jupiter campus with the aim to create new products and methods to fight disease.

Scripps Florida has more than 600 employees at its Jupiter campus. Scripps is committed to its Florida campus, recruiting new scientists to joining the faculty. Recently, the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County reported that biotech jobs in the county totaled about 3,000.
