Q: What has happened to The Whole Truth? For the past few weeks, ABC has kept airing something else. — Judith Sanders, Wheeling, W.Va.

A: The network canceled the show fairly early in the new season. Its ratings were low from the start ... despite the imprint of CSI producer Jerry Bruckheimer and the teaming of two proven television stars, Rob Morrow ( NUMB3RS, Northern Exposure) and Maura Tierney ( ER).

Q: Now that Tom Selleck is doing Blue Bloods and the Jesse Stone movies, is there any possibility that he may someday do another Western? — Mike Robinson, Huntington Beach, Calif.

A: The actor’s affinity for that genre is clear, based on the number of Westerns he has made. However, for the time being, his CBS series and the Stone movies obviously are his top priorities.

Q: What ever happened to last year’s American Idol winner? I never heard about him again. — Sara Panzerella, Derby, N.Y.

A: If by “last year,” you really mean “last season” Lee DeWyze has just released his first album since winning Idol, titled Live It Up. He’s been making the talkshow rounds in recent weeks to promote it.

On the other hand, if you truly mean 2009 by “last year,” Kris Allen had a pretty good run at the music charts after his Idol victory that year. His self-named album yielded a bona fide hit in Live Like We’re Dying, and he’s made plenty of in-person appearances, some during a concert tour he headlined last summer.

Q: My husband and I watched Mercy and Trauma every week, so we were disappointed when those two shows didn’t show up this season. What happened to them? — Mary Breslin, Dunnellon

A: Both were canceled by NBC after their only seasons. A Complete Series set of each is available on DVD.
