Q: Will Castle return in the fall? — Anthony Catanzano, Greenacres
A: In fact, ABC renewed the show in January ... way before the full fall lineup was made known last month. The Nathan Fillion-starring mystery show will be back for its fourth season, retaining its Monday slot following Dancing With the Stars.
Q: There was a show called Persons Unknown, in which people were sent to a town and a hotel that they could not get out of. The last two episodes were disrupted by news events. Is there any place we can see them? — Jackie Jones, Federal Way, Wash.
A: Though a complete series DVD set was slated to be released last September, that ultimately was postponed, and no new date has been announced for the debut of the set intended to compile the only season of the NBC show that aired last summer. Episodes from the series remain up at www.nbc. com, and written synopses of them can be found at various Internet sites.
Q: Why did Nancy O’Dell leave Access Hollywood only to show up on Entertainment Tonight? — Janet Tillman, Howard, Ohio
A: At the time O’Dell left Access in 2009, there was no similar opening at Entertainment, since Mary Hart was still very much the weeknight co-anchor of the syndicated magazine program. It was afterward that Hart’s departure became known.
Since O’Dell clearly had vast experience in hosting such a show, it was sort of a no-brainer that the Entertainment producers went to her. In terms of her accepting, O’Dell told us herself late last year: “It’s the original, the one that began this whole genre. I always thought, ‘How great would it be to be a part of that show?’ ”
Q: Is it true that they are going to cancel The Chicago Code? — Barbara Kamin, Burien, Wash.
A: It’s not that “they are going to”; it’s that “they did.” The police drama was part of Fox’s rather major cleanout of its lineup, announced the week before the new entries in its 2011-12 schedule were confirmed.
