Gregory T. Daw, 68, of Pough­keep­sie, NY passed away un­ex­pect­edly at home on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 10, 2017. Born in Bea­con, NY on July 7, 1949, he was the son of Al­fred T. Daw and Marie M. Daw. Gregory was a grad­u­ate of Bea­con High School and Lin­coln Tech­ni­cal In­sti­tute, in Mah­wah, NJ. He was in­ducted into the U.S. Army from 1969 – 1970 and was as­signed to the 4th In­fantry Di­vi­sion, in the Repub­lic of Viet­nam. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Medal, and Army Com­men­da­tion Medal with Valor for hero­ism in con­nec­tion with mil­i­tary op­er­a­tions against an armed hos­tile force on Jan­uary 19, 1970. He was em­ployed by IBM for 30 years and held var­i­ous po­si­tions in the World Trade Dis­tri­bu­tion Cen­ter and IBM Pough­keep­sie Site Dis­tri­bu­tion. He grad­u­ated from Lin­coln Tech­ni­cal In­sti­tute in 1997 and was the owner of Dis­count Air Con­di­tion­ing & Re­frig­er­a­tion un­til his re­tire­ment in 2008. Greg was a sea­sonal res­i­dent of Lake Worth, FL, an avid golfer, and pro­po­nent of the Walk­way Over The Hud­son in Pough­keep­sie, NY. Greg is sur­vived by two broth­ers: Dennis Daw of En­nis, MT; and Christo­pher Daw of Round Rock, TX. A com­mit­tal ser­vice fol­lowed by en­tomb­ment will be held at 10:00AM on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 14 in the Com­mu­nity Mau­soleum at Fishkill Ru­ral Ceme­tery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY. The U.S. Army will con­duct Mil­i­tary Hon­ors. In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to Viet­nam Agent Or­ange Re­lief & Re­spon­si­bil­ity Cam­paign, P.O.
