Liv­ing her­itage in Del­ray Beach

Who’s ready to cel­e­brate? In ob­ser­va­tion of Black His­tory Month and the 50th an­niver­sary of the as­sas­si­na­tion of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Spady Cul­tural Her­itage Mu­seum throws its an­nual Liv­ing Her­itage Fes­ti­val. The event, which pays trib­ute to the area’s African, Car­ib­bean and Haitian roots, takes over the streets of Del­ray Beach with food, art, games and live per­for­mances. One of the per­for­mances will fea­ture Del­ray youth per­form­ing their own writ­ten mono­logues, po­ems and other scenes, un­der the guid­ance of writer-di­rec­tor Dar­ius Daugh­try and rap­per­lyri­cist Ja­mal Jones.
