Man wielding bat charged in machete attack
Violence erupted at party in suburban Lake Worth.

WEST PALM BEACH — second man is facing an attempted murder charge for his role in a November 2017 attack on a man at a party in suburban Lake Worth, a report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff ’s Office said.
Mario Perez Sainz, 52, from the Palm Springs area, is accused of beating a man with a baseball bat while his brother, Alberto Perez Sainz, 46, hacked at the man with a machete.
The younger Perez Sainz brother is also facing a charge of attempted murder.
Both Perez Sainz brothers remained in the county jail as of Wednesday, with Mario denied bond and Alberto’s bail set at $50,003.
According to a report, on the night of Nov. 23, Mario Perez Sainz was at a party attended by his brother’s estranged wife and her new boyfriend.
The boyfriend told investigators that he believed Mario Perez Sainz told his brother
that the couple was at the party.
According to the report, Alberto Perez Sainz showed up and rushed at his wife’s new boyfriend with the machete.
During the attack, Mario Perez Sainz picked up a base
ball bat and began to beat the man as well, the report said.
The attack sent the man to the hospital, where he received more than 50 stitches and had to undergo surgery to repair several severed tendons.
