Woman gets probation for Upper Providence DUI crash.

A Norristown woman is facing five years under court super- vision after admitting to driving under the influence and striking another car on Route 422 in Upper Providence.

Maria Aristoklis, 23, of the 2900 block of Hannah Avenue, pleaded guilty Monday in Montgomery County Court to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated assault, according to court documents. She was sentenced to five years of probation and fined $300.

Aristoklis was arrested following a crash on Nov. 26, 2015 shortly after 1 a.m. on the westbound lanes of Route 422 in Upper Prov- idence. According to the criminal complaint, she was driving in the wrong direction, eastbound in the westbound lanes, when she struck another car headon

The driver of the car Aristoklis struck, a 34-year-old Gilbertsvi­lle man, was injured in the crash. According to the complaint, he suffered from a broken femur, fibula, toe, hand and three broken ribs requiring multiple surgeries and two weeks in the intensive care unit. Police reported that a case of beer was found in Aristoklis’ car, and the blood test she was administer­ed at the hospital came back with a result of a 0.212 percent blood alcohol content.

In addition to probation and a fine, Aristoklis was ordered by Judge William R. Carpenter to attend Alcohol Highway Safety School.
