Doors gui­tarist Robby Krieger per­forms at Colo­nial Theatre

Robby Krieger, best known as lead gui­tarist of The Doors who also wrote sev­eral of the band’s great­est hits, in­clud­ing its big­gest, “Light My Fire,” per­formed took the stage at The Colo­nial Theatre re­cently.

Phoenixville res­i­dents and those trav­el­ing from other ar­eas were in for a treat Thurs­day evening, Sept. 21, as one of the great­est gui­tarists in the his­tory of rock-and-roll took the stage at The Colo­nial Theatre.

Robby Krieger, best known as lead gui­tarist of The Doors also wrote sev- eral of the band’s great­est hits, in­clud­ing its big­gest, “Light My Fire.”

With a full band and his son, Way­lon, on vo­cals, they per­formed hit af­ter hit of The Doors cat­a­log with Krieger shred­ding the gui­tar notes and oc­ca­sion­ally break­ing out into a gui­tar solo. There were sev­eral ova­tions through­out the evening as the 71-year-old brought ev­ery­one to their feet with elec­tric sounds.
