Motorcyclist killed in one-vehicle crash
LIMERICK >> A man has died of his injuries after his motorcycle crashed into a utility pole Sept. 30.
The driver, identified by police as Jacob Focht, 21, of Oley, was pronounced dead Oct. 1 in Pottstown Hospital.
Focht had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
Police said officers arrived at the 400 block of Swamp Pike at around 10:06 p.m. Sept. 30 to find a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle had crashed into a utility pole.
Authorities said in a report Oct. 2 the preliminary investigation found that Focht was traveling southbound on Swamp Pike when he attempted to navigate a curve in the road. The motorcycle then left the road and struck the utility pole.
Police were assisted on scene by New Hanover Township Police, Trappe Ambulance and Limerick Township Fire Departments.
