The East Coventry Elementary School Student Council traveled to the historic West Chester Courthouse on Sept. 17 to participate in the county’s recognition ceremony. Students signed a copy of the Constitution and participated in the program. Even Benjamin Franklin made an appearance.

All students also had a chance to vote in a mock election held recently. Students learned that the Constitution serves as our framework for our country’s democracy. They learned that the Constitution outlines the process for electing our officials.
