Two Scouts from Troop 542 earn Eagle Scout Rank
Two scouts from Boy Scout Troop 542 in Maple Glen recently received the Eagle Scout Award, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scout program of the Boy Scouts of America. David G. Cai and Luke A. Violante were honored at a Court of Honor ceremony at Supplee Presbyterian Church, where the troop is based.
For his Eagle project, Cai lead a team of 33 youth and adult volunteers in the planting of 175 trees protected by anti-deer fencing at Rose Valley Preserve, a park in Upper Dublin Township. The project took more than 180 volunteer hours.
For his Eagle project, Violante led 28 youth and adult volunteers in the beautification of an outdoor walking path at Gwynedd Estates retirement community. The trail was lined with gravel to make the path safer and easier to follow and deerresistant flowers were planted to beautify the area.
