Perkiomen Val­ley ham­mers C.R. South in dis­trict opener

The Perkiomen Val­ley field hockey team came out steam­ing in their Dis­trict One Class 3A play­off sec­ond round game against the Coun­cil Rock South Wed­nes­day with a 7-2 win, their first game since suf­fer­ing their first loss of the sea­son in last week’s Pi­o­neer Ath­letic Con­fer­ence cham­pi­onship game.

Kelly Baitinger scored 1:08 into reg­u­la­tion and had a hand in No. 2 PV’s first four goals. For the game, she fin­ished with three goals and an as­sist while Danielle Hamm added a score and two as­sists in the win. Teresa Bartkowski had a goal and an as­sist while Olivia Keyte and Katie Wuer­s­tle were each cred­ited with solo tal­lies in the win. Gabby Martina had an as­sist.

Brid­get Do­herty and Kate­lyn Cocco each scored for No. 18 C.R. South in the loss.
